What are the most-watched Netflix movies and TV shows by the number of viewers in the first 28 days?
This metric has been used from December 2018 to June 2021, but it's now replaced with the new metric by the number of hours viewed. Also, this metric was changed by Netflix in December 2019, viewers were counted after the first 2 minutes and not after 70% completed viewership. No new titles will be added to this list.
These are official numbers published by Netflix in quarterly letters to shareholders. Each number is for 4 first weeks since the release date. Until Q4/2019 the number meant how many households with subscriptions watched at least 70% of the movie or episode. Then Netflix changed the metrics, now it starts counting when the video is played. Therefore numbers for the newer titles may be up to 30% higher than for the older titles.
