Movies about movies are the best. But The Bubble might be an exception because it’s too much on the nose, at least according to the reviews. The Bubble is about the cast and crew of a blockbuster action franchise that attempts to shoot a sequel while quarantining at a posh hotel. Due to heavy promotion, Netflix succeeded to sell a new release to a lot of viewers. The Bubble had only a handful of number one positions but it was enough to steal the weekend from The Adam Project and the new documentary Trust No One: The Hunt for the Crypto King. Everything else is pretty much the same everywhere. Bridgerton continues to make huge numbers, Game of Thrones returned to number one after Euphoria ended its season run, and Dune or Turning Red are still kings of their platforms. Only MCU’s Moon Knight had a white-hot release and jumped over The Simpsons to the number one spot.
If you clicked on FlixPatrol.com over the weekend though, you may have noticed some changes. We rearranged the home page to show the biggest players in VOD first. Netflix, HBO Max, Disney+, Amazon Prime, Paramount+ and Hulu. That’s for streaming. If you click on the small button in the right upper corner, you can turn to the Rent or Buy category with TVOD giants like Amazon, iTunes, Google Movies, Rakuten, Chili, or VUDU (and Spider-Man: No Way Home is number one pretty much everywhere). We hope you will like this layout because it offers a clearer picture and more information with fewer clicks.
