365 Days: This Day had a great start. Will that be enough?

365 Days: This Day had a great start. Will that be enough?
Sequel to the Polish 50 Shades of Grey everyone wanted to watch? Mission accomplished!

Netflix weekly numbers are in and there is one winner above all. 365 Days: This Day clocked 77.98 million hours since its release. The number will probably grow next week, but 365 Days: This Day was heavily frontloaded. What does that mean? Like all sequels, this one was hugely anticipated and Netflix made sure that subscribers know it is coming. No wonder that movie had the 10th best 1st Day start in the history of this specific chart on FlixPatrol. Everyone wanted to see 365 Days: This Day as soon as possible. This usually happens with blockbuster theatrical releases, especially talked-about Summer movies people are talking about. You want to be in the loop, so you go see them on the first weekend. Turning the movie or the show into an event is forcing subscribers to see it ASAP to stay relevant.

This was obviously “the mission” with the 365 Days sequel and Netflix nailed it. Despite terrible reviews, the numbers are very promising. The movie is the first Netflix “blockbuster” since The Adam Project, hitting much higher marks than Choose or Die or The In Between. Frontloading works, but for 365 Days: This Day it could also mean that the movie will fall in ratings considerably in the upcoming weeks, not reaching any historic records. Real moves are happening somewhere else. The final episodes of Ozark Season 4 got 78.4 million (it will get bigger next week as the show got released on Friday) and the Non-English language hit The Marked Heart went even further with 85.26 million (up from last week’s 68 million). The latter even has a shot at the All-Time Top Ten chart.
