Three years. That is how long Sandra Bullock ruled over Netflix with her Bird Box, the movie that got 282 million viewed hours in the first 28 days since its release. We’ve only found out recently when Netflix changed their metric and started to count viewed hours instead of viewers. But the record is now broken because, in only 18 days since the release, Red Notice already got to 328,8 million hours viewed. What does that mean? This number will be much higher when the 28-day mark will pass. Just compare it to November number 2 in Netflix global charts which is Army of Thieves. According to Netflix numbers it got roughly 152 million viewed hours in the first 28 days. Not bad, slightly below Army of the Dead and just outside of all-time Top Ten.
What about other November winners? Shang-Chi arrived on November 12 but it was soon enough to beat a fellow Marvel hero. Black Widow fought with all her might but ultimately lost to a newcomer, followed by Jungle Cruise, Moana, and Home Sweet Home Alone. On HBO, it was Harry Potter nostalgia that brought the first movie in the series all the way to the top, twenty years after its theatrical release.
