A few days ago we reported on big numbers Moon King got on its official Marvel YouTube channel over the first 24 hours, but that was only cream on top, because insiders from Disney have their own tracking that suggests 75 million views over the same period, including the views from broadcast where Moon Knight premiered during the NFL Wildcard game on ESPN and got 23 million views. The remaining 52 million views are distributed over various YouTube channels and other platforms that released the trailer.
Moon Knight will be the sixth MCU show released on Disney+. Only Falcon and the Winter Soldier had bigger numbers, but the trailer for that show was released during the Super Bowl, which guaranteed a huge audience of 125 million views over the same window of 24 hours. Moon Knight is still a winner over engagements and likes, beating every single MCU show and being the fastest trailer to reach 1 million likes on Marvel’s official YouTube channel, as well as topping the number of social media mentions by almost 10 % over WandaVision (263 thousand vs. 241 thousand), even beating Mandalorian (222 thousand mentions) in this field. Buzz is certainly strong with this one. Moon Knight’s release date is set for March 30th.
